Which is an increase of 23 percent over the same period last year, the government news agency Notimex reported Friday.

Remittances have become an increasingly important source of income for the country in recent years, surpassing tourism. They represent Mexico’s second-largest source of foreign income after oil.

They topped $20 billion for the first time in 2005, a 17 percent increase from the previous year.

Where is the unemployment insurance for Mexican workers?
Instead of doing the hard work to benefit Mexican citizens, Fox is relying on America’s natural sympathy for the underdog. He hopes that gullible American politicians will ignore the bottom 25 percent of families that have been hurt by low wages in the U.S., just as he has ignored them in Mexico. What is wrong with Mexicans fixing Mexico?

killowen05 asked:

What is wrong with fixing Mexico. They have oil, tourism, fertile land. Why are they coming here ILLEGALLY? I am so sick of them forcing me to speak their language. I love th Spanish/Spain language but these people come here and force their culture on us and make us pay for their children to be taught by a bilingual teacher or aide. In texas here, some American aides cannot get a job in the school because they do not speak spanish. What is wrong with this picture? Our church is now 99% spanish and they are putting their flag on the altar at Our Lady of Quadalupe Day. This is disrespect for us Americans. By the way, I am a LEGAL immigrant who went through the process from N. Ireland.
By the way. I was in Sante Fe New Mexico last week and at the Burger King the woman working there serving could not speak English and my daughter went to Subway and could not make the woman there understand her order and she had to leave without her sandwich. Something is really wrong here.
To answer “Shorty1″ - No it is not everywhere but here in Texas I see more Spanish than I do anglos. We are overcrowded here with them. It is not that I don’t like them, I have an adopted child who is part S. American, but they are moving in and taking over. In Farmers Branch Texas they have made ordinances, no more signs in Spanish.
